Kat was always one that was running around from place to place trying to find something to do, or planning something to do with her friends. Though really as much as she liked meeting up with people she knew she was always even more excited when she was meeting someone new, though it had only been recently that she had actually been meeting people online before actually meeting them. She found it was easier for them to get an opinion of her before meeting them, therefore not scaring them off as easily. Kat always got too eager when just randomly going up to someone often doing things most people wouldn’t think would be right when just meeting someone like jumping into there lap, kissing them, making them dance with her, or whatever else came to mind. She was quite known for making people roll down hills with her, one of her favourite pastimes. Actually most people enjoyed doing things like that with her, but really kat never did act her age, well for the most part. There was still her liking people and all that wasn’t the same as when she was ten years old and all but personality wise she was like a kid running off a huge sugar load. But that was just her usual energy level that she had, sure she was exhausted by night and did get sick quite a bit because of overworking herself and all but kat was just someone who couldn’t sit still. She didnt like sitting on a couch when there was things she could be finding to do.. You would think because she was always on the move if she was bored she would clean or something yet her place only remained clean because she had someone come in to clean it. The only place she cleaned was her room because she was someone who didnt like having people touching her things that were important to her, which she kept all in her room. Nobody went in there unless she had to show them something.
Kat today was meeting up with Camden, she hadn’t met him before yet it was like somehow they became really close friends just within like two days of talking online and she was super excited about meeting him. Like she had promised she had went and changed her hair a bit, of course she still had the platinum blnde, her natural color, for her main hair color yet along the tips of her hair she had blues and purples and colors mixed in with them making a nice contrast and making her blue eyes stand out incredibly. She found she also could find a lot more to do with her make up with this look. Her hair had been cut shorter though if she really wanted she had extensions she could add in, so she didnt mind, plus her hair was naturally fairly straight so it was easy to keep up and all too. You could find nobody else having the same hair as kat, plus with her constant changing of colors and all people couldn’t keep up with her style. Which she didnt want them too. She didnt like it when people tried to copy her style often making her change around a lot and coming up with some things that were ridiculously creative. Kat had a skill in fashion, coming up with the most outrageous things yet making them work and always standing out from the crowd. Kat loved attention, so getting attention for her style made her beam even more then her usual smile that she shined all the time. Kat was really just someone you found yourself attracted to at first and only when you met her you judged on whether you liked her a lot or despised her. There was never an in between which kat liked because then she was never confused about who liked her and who didnt. That always just made things complicated, and complications just didnt suit kats lifestyle. She didnt have time to deal with it all.
Though it was a fairly warm day kat was far from warm and actually as she walked into the mall she was shivering until she got in there where she felt a bit warm but still felt the need to wear her thick long sleeve shirt and black short shorts, of course along with matching black and yellow knee socks which added to her outfit. Yey for being different. Her shirt was a bright yellow and black color with eyes on the bottom of the sleeves obviously the right colors to be seen. They were bright yet they still weren’t too bright. She was going to wear her tutu and pink hello kitty top but she was too cold today to actually wear those pieces of clothing that day. Kat had on a pair of blue heeled boots that laced up and really she looked quite remarkable in her outfit and still had the bright colors so that Camden would obviously notice her. Well she believed he would anyways, i mean she was the only one not in shorts and a shirt around here and didnt have like blue on. Which was stupid. Kat really believed people needed to expand on there wardrobe and wear different colors, she thought she would be a good fashion consultant for some of these people. Yet kat was obviously pleased that she stood out today even though she wasn’t in as bright of clothing as she had planned. Camden and Kat had planned on meeting in front of the toy store, because it was kat and it was the shops most people didnt go into that she went into. After this they planned on going to more of the shops that didnt look like they had good clothes, people were just so wrong about these things. They all migrated to brand named clothing which kat didnt care about. Yet kat also did have coffee in her hands from starbucks, oops she broke the rules of what they were to do. But kat needed her caffeine and she had found out what he had in one of there conversations over the past few days and he could get the second round if he insisted. Yet she still wouldn’t let him pay for lunch which they were doing later. Well really kat was loaded with money, she liked spending money on people, it was much more fun then spending it on herself.
She sat to the side slightly her legs crossed her coffee in her hands warming them up and camdens sitting right in front of which she stared at. Her cheeks were a bit rosy from being outside, the slight breeze, and i say slight is being an overstatement there was barely anything, left her cheeks slightly red and all. She was excited for today. Actually she slept barely at all last night just because she wanted the next day to come, which had taken forever. She had talked to her turtles for most of the night till she finally had dozed off. Kat was an odd person and really had issues doing the weirdest things and though she was nervous about meeting Camden, hoping he wouldn’t run away because like he had said he was shy at first, she still probably would end up pouncing at him if he didnt get to her first. Taking a sip of her drink she looked up at the ceiling her hair moving back from her face noticing the stares she got as people moved through the mall. She grinned at this, even though they were probably wondering just what she was wearing and why she was showing herself in such a public place. She found she didnt really give two shits about what people thought of her as long as they weren’t her friends, which none of them were of course. Changing her position to curling her knees to her chest she kept hold of her coffee. You would think this would make her more hyper but it calmed her down. Which was exactly why she was drinking it, because she didnt want to be too hyper for Camden when he was so shy at first. Kat hoped she had been friendly enough with him that he wouldn’t be incredibly shy with her. She found it hard to contain excitement just to herself and liked showing when she was looking forward to seeing someone and all. Playing with her sleeve a bit she waited, knowing she was a bit early but hoped Camden would show up soon, considering they had plenty to do today and she was excited for all of it.
cam was not the crazy-popular-bffs-with-everyone-party-all-the-time type of person. especially not in high school. and not even now. camden never really wanted to be either. he enjoyed the friends he had and loved them all dearly but being around big crowds and meeting new people was just a nerve wracking thing for camden. he would just rather hang out with people he already knew where he was comfortable and relaxed. he could have some much more fun that way. and cam was totally cool with not being able to hang out with someone twenty four seven. he did not mind that he did not have tons of friends. cam was going for quality rather than quantity. and if you even thought of camden going to a party, it had to be a joke. seriously, why would a germaphobe that was a not a big drinker or druggie go to a party? it was just an equation for disaster. don't even get camden started on how dirty and filthy parties were and how people got all close to you. ick, gross. that is all camden had to say about that. camden had always been pretty quiet and if people wanted to be friends with him they usually had to make the first effort to talk. but once kyle was truly friends with you [and thoroughly caffeinated], he could get pretty crazy. it was sort of fun to be the quiet kid that only a select few knew. and it usually surprised people how crazy he could be once they got to know him. they just did not expect it from him. no matter how shy cam was in the beginning, in the end he had the element of surprise on his side.
that almost made camden sound confident. which he really wasn't. maybe after he got to know you and he felt more comfortable. but even then it was only to an extent. camden had been nervous since yesterday afternoon about today. he had gotten off of work and went home to do some cleaning [of course] and in the midst of cleaning, he was thinking about his schedule for the next day. this started to make him nervous because he was meeting kat for the first time face to face. cam and kat had been talking over im and of course camden was cool when he had time to think about his reply and without having kat see that the whole time he had been cleaning his apartment. but now, kat would be able to notice everything about camden. the way he talked and moved and what he said. camden was always so worried about what people were thinking about him. since he knew what kat was going to be like, it made things a bit better. cam knew sort of what she looked like and from some of the things she said, he could sort of tell what she might be like in personality. he was excited for today but also very anxious. in fact, the whole time he had been getting ready this morning, camden had just been thinking about what kat would think about each little part. when he was doing his hair he was thinking about what she would think of his hair. when he was picking out his clothes, he had been thinking about what she would think of those too. and it wasn't even the fact that kat was a girl or because camden liked her or anything. camden would have been just as nervous if he was going to meet some guy. it was just that cam was very aware of what people thought of him and how they percepted him. it was important to him for some odd reason.
really camden should have been relieved. the two of them had had a lot of fun over im and now cam was sure they could have real fun. he just needed to remember to relax and be himself. waayy easier said then done for camden. he really did not want to be all shy in the beginning. he wanted to act normal with her and just have fun in the beginning, but it was seriously almost impossible for that to happen. and that made him a little sad. he knew why he was that way and why he would never be able to just be himself when he met someone. it was his damn father. now when he met people, he had to wait to show his true colors, cam had to figure out the person, see if he could trust them. damn his father. but whatever. he was not going to be all shitty about it today. camden was very excited to be having a day with a new friend. as excited as it was possible for camden porter to be. camden was excited about seeing kats hair and her outfit. they both had discussed their blonde hair [hers being platinum and his bleach blonde] and their love for bright clothing. see, they already got along. the night before, camden had carefully picked out his outfit just like he always did. being sure to make his colors bright and mismatched. he was wearing an ice blue t-shirt from some band and his favorite cotton red jacket with his camo shorts and a little hat too. camden loved to accessorize with hats. it sounded a little girlish but camden just loved hats. like girls like shoes; cam likes hats.
once camden got outside his apartment after getting ready, he was a little regretful of putting on the jacket. it wasn't super thick or anything but the weather was pretty warm. oh well, he would get over it. he loved his jacket and he needed it for his look. camden had lost track of time when he was getting ready so he was running a little late for him. really he was right on time but to cam that was late. so he skipped his usual morning caffeine [a very hard choice for him] and walked on to the mall. when camden finally arrived, pretty warm by now, he was very happy to notice kat right away. it was not hard with her platinum blonde hair and her purplish-bluish tips. he had to smile. she seemed to be very much like how she had sounded on the internet. he walked over to her, his eyes on the ground, trying to piece something together to say. uhh, hey. he said smiling. not much, but what else did he have to say. he spotted the coffee in her hand and then the one that sat across from her right in front of the opposite chair. his eyes grew. oh yes, caffeine! for me? he said like a child that was given a present he was not expecting. camden sat down very happy to have a bit of time to cool down and to have gotten the awkward part over. well at least it had been awkward for him. nice hair by the way. see it was not too bad. camden had to admit that it was a lot easier than he had expected it to be. camden was just excited he had not stuttered much yet. that was his most embarrassing problem. camden had a feeling that him and kat were really going to get along and be pretty close.
Kat though she did know a lot of boo people it wasn’t like kat aimed to get a bunch of friends, to be the popular one or anything like that, it was something that was obvious about her. You could tell she wasn’t trying. I mean just her appearance alone wasn’t something that was generally welcoming or anything and she didnt dress in the latest trends and all that just so she would be noticed. She liked being noticed as an individual not someone who was following along everyone else. It just was boring that way. Kat liked having the friends that she had because she was never able to mope or just relax, right when she had lost her sister being by herself had always been a big issue and she never had really let herself properly grieve even now, so she kept herself going, making sure she didnt have time to really rest until she was so exhausted that she just passed out. And she kept up with that routine, her having nothing to do for more then a few hours was just something you normally didnt see at all. Kat had a lot of friends that were never really close to her or knew her at all, actually not many knew her all that well here, they knew her hyper self but nothing behind that, which was why there was few people who you could say she was actually best friends with or even close. Kat at a party is both humorous and just not right, she isn’t someone who drinks or smokes or does drugs or even approves of it so she is often telling off her friends who go and get high every night, which does make her loose friends though she has such a childish personality that a lot of them just find it a laugh. Kat just doesn’t like people getting addicted to things or acting like a fool, she has dated people in the past who were druggies and all and it often ended up in something bad happening. So kat stayed away from parties and would much rather just spend her time with her animals or at the park.
Kat never was really one that thought of things in advance. She was always someone who just did what she thought was going to work out best at that given moment and it wasn’t until after she acted that she regretted normally, like how she “contained her excitement” aka leaping at the persons he was looking forward to meeting. But for meeting Camden she had definitely thought through it too much, the only thing she hadnt figured out was her clothes, everything else well thought out, how she needed to be as calm as she could, have her hair a certain way, make sure she was always smiling, she literally had a list in front of her and checked off each thing as she prepared for meeting with him. She was extremely nervous, maybe because he for some reason wasn’t someone she wanted to loose but she really just didnt want to go and scare him away, especially when he told her he was shy when first meeting people. She was scared of doing that, scared of coming on to strong. As much as it never seemed to look as if it bothered her kat really hated when people left her because she was too different, it hurt a lot, like she wasn’t good enough to have friends even though she had plenty. And when she met someone like Camden she was actually more worried just because he seemed like someone she would actually cherish completely as a friend, and as a good friend too, someone she could trust. But then again it was often easier to lie over the net then in person so she would make her real judgement of him when meeting him. She hoped he didnt turn out like someone completely different then how he acted online. That was one thing she hated, liars, people who didnt just come clean about how they were. Sure there was always some secrets about people but don’t go acting like someone completely different either. Kat noticed details about people you would never expect her too which often was how she became quite the good judge of character yet she never let on, a lot of people thinking her stupid because of this, she was a very bright girl kat though so she figured Camden would be someone she would figure out if she could trust or not right away even. Yet she probably would make herself believe she could trust him whether she actually should be able to or not.
Kat had noticed that they did have a lot alike and kat would not have to calm herself down so much unlike how she had to do for most people, well except for at the beginning anyways, she believed once she broke through his shyness she could just be more of herself, yet she wasn’t going to completely stop herself from being herself, because she liked who she was. Kat when she was little was constantly made fun of and often would just hang around her brother and sister, she would hide how she liked being and really completely changed her personality for quite the long while until finally she was sick of putting on this cover just so she would be liked. Since she just decided to be herself and was comfortable with it she wasn’t going to change this right now either. Camden seemed like he would open up eventually yet it was hard to really understand someone completely when it was just over the net in her opinion anyways. Kat was someone who trusted everyone, even if she knew it was wrong. Kat didnt like having it where people thought she wasn’t trustworthy because she was scared of trusting others with her life, so she gave people a chance yet most people always found some way to break it. Yet being trustworthy did make it easy to be comfortable with others and today she believed she would easily fit in with being friends with Camden. She would find a way. She was good at making people feel fine to be with her. Even if it meant her doing more of the talking or goofing around, she made people smile. It was something she always cried to guarantee, that people wouldnt end up crying because of her. Kat trying so hard herself not to cry, to the point where she hadn’t cried since she was about five, she didnt want to see other people cry either. Kat believed that if other people cried it might just end up in her crying too. Ringing her hands around her drink tighter she sighed looking around, she knew generally what he looked like and figured he would stand out so she was looking for him right at the moment, and couldn’t be more excited then she was now, trying her hardest not to run around looking for him. She had quite the issues staying in one spot so her bouncing in her seat was normal.
Kat was a very straightforward person. She didnt pull people one way when she was going another. She liked people knowing what she was like, what she liked to do, a lot about her, personality wise, not history wise but otherwise yes there was a lot she wanted people to know about her. Seeing Camden there she smiled, knowing that one of his first thoughts probably was that she seemed just how she was on the internet which was just how she had planned it. He was cute, and he seemed quite like how he was online too. The first thing she noticed was what he was wearing and his hat, she was one that liked things that added to the outfit, so it was surprising the only thing she wore accessory wise was her hello kitty necklace, but his hat made the outfit fit together, yet even without it she guessed it would. When he approached she stopped herself from flinging herself at him ‘haaiii, don’t worry i promise i wont jump at you, im calming myself down for a bit’ she said raising her cup of coffee doubting he understood that coffee instead of making her more alive made her more calm and normal really. Nodding she shrugged ‘i figured caffeine would be a good way to start the day, hence why i asked you earlier what you liked’ she mumbled to him poking her tongue out at him for a moment before looking away. Smiling she tugged at the end of a piece of her hair nervously ‘i told you i would change it slightly, yet keep the blonde. I almost went blue again, but i decided i didnt want to go too crazy’ she said to him shrugging lightly before without any notice leaned over and took his hat from him sticking it on her own head with a wink ‘well now i think you need a new hat. Because you should consider this stolen for the day’ she said to him giggling slightly getting up moving over to him and grabbing his hand gently tugging on it ‘now grab your coffee and lets go get you a new hat’ she said to him kissing his cheek and dashing a bit ahead walking backwards staring at him with a smile his hat still on her head and instead of heading to the toy store she took a new lead to one of the stores that sold multiple hats much like the one she had took from him. She didnt care if he would try to object but kat liked the hat and she was wearing it. Giggling once more she smiled over at him ‘camdenn come on, youuu need a new hat so i can keep this one’ she yelled over to him causing several heads to turn as she spun around waiting for him to catch up suddenly both excited and hyper once again after finally getting rid of the awkwardness of the beginning of there conversation. .
camden was feeling very relieved. he was relieved that he had made it here and gotten through all the hello's and starting shit. it really had not been as awkward as he thought it would be. they already sorta knew each other and kat was just herself; crazy and wild but still tons of fun. which really lightened up the mood. seriously, who could not love kat for being so spontaneous and fun? of course he could understand people thinking she was too crazy but that was their fault for being boring. camden saw some of the crazy looks they got from people. he did not really care at all. all he knew is that he was truly having fun with kat and they had only really been hanging out for a little bit. but somehow her radiating personality and childlike behavior was simply irresistible. it was happy that he had chosen to come today. camden could feel it was going to be a good day. this morning on the way here, he had been viciously worrying about what kat would think of him and if she would turn out to be some creepy old fat guy that just wanted to rape him. oh, damn his imagination for being so crazy and inventive. but really, camden had been thinking about a thousand things that could go wrong and make this whole day crappy and awkward. cam had even been worried about the fact that he did not have too much money to go shopping. he had tried to take a decent amount of money with him so he could actually shop but he also did not want to bring too much because he had a tendency to get carried away when shopping. but who could blame him? shopping was great. you got new stuff.
camden was very gracious to kat for getting him some coffee. cam was one to always try his best to be on time and if he had stopped in for coffee this morning, he most likely would have been late to meet kat. but it had definitely been a tough decision for his coffee-loving self to sacrifice his coffee. this was why kat and him were going to get along. they had things in common. camden could see them easily becoming good friends quite quickly. he liked kats sense of style and they both had some childlike tendencies and she had been so thoughtful to get him coffee. of course kat was more straight forward than camden was but given time, cam would be as crazy as kat was. he just needed some more time to warm up. he did not expect it to be too terribly long because he could already feel himself starting to melt. he just saw himself a lot in kat which was probably a big reason why he really wanted to just warm up and be natural with her. but it was a process that could not be rushed. oh camden and his silly mind everything was a distinct process that could not be rushed or changed. he had a routine that he liked to keep to. that was just his obsessive compulsiveness coming out.
mostly because of his past and his father, camden was not very good at trusting people. he was easily able to become friends with people and was easily sold on peoples personalities but when it came down to trusting them with something he found serious or trying to have a really serious conversation with them, they had a difficult test to pass with him. of course camden was the type to really want to get close to people but it was just something he physically could not do. many times in camdens life, he had been taken advantage of because he was naive. but camden had become smarter since that time and was careful about the people he befriended and especially careful about the people he trusted with things. sometimes it was a lot of worrying and work but in the end it saved camden a lot of hurt. in his eyes anyway. to him he was guarding his fragile heart. because truly, camden was very childlike and he could be very easily hurt. so cam would rather do the all the work and worry in the beginning instead of the crying and hurt in the end. this required camden to be pretty perceptive of peoples true intentions and personalities. but today he just really wasn't that worried about it. in the beginning he had but now kat was so crazy and innocent seeming that he almost felt guilty being guarded around her.
at the same time that camden was being so relaxed he was still trying to figure out kat. she was just being her little crazy self but cam felt like it was a sort of cover for something else. camden felt a deeper connection then just their styles and personalities. like they had a similar past. camden sort of used his shyness and ocd/germaphobia as a cover up. people would see that and think that was as deep as it went with him and not ask about his past. but if they happened to ask about it camden would try his best to change the subject. it had never really been much of a problem before. people understood he did not want to talk about it and they would move on to something else. but you never knew when someone would pop up and demand it out of him. camden had to admit he was happy that kat had controlled herself and not totally invaded his space. cam would not mind after a moment of getting to know her but in the very beginning it would have been a little too much for him to handle. as camden sat down to enjoy his free coffee he smiled at her and gave a large "thank you". she was truly his life saver. "i am not very exciting without coffee." camden was absolutely boring without caffeine. after listening to the bit about her hair, camden chuckled. he liked her hair. it suited her. camden narrowed his eyes at kat playfully when his hat was whisked from his head. "just take good care of it." camden was trying to be natural and normal. he could not really be totally crazy yet. cam had to blush a bit when kat kissed him, she was moving a bit fast for him, but at the same time he was kind of enjoying he doing all the talking and leading. camden was a bit slow to move and once he heard kats voice yelling towards him, she easily got his attention and he smiled. cam stood up with his coffee following her towards the hat shop laughing a bit out of pure enjoyment.
It was something that everyone knew. Kat was definitely an expert at that. Because kat hid a lot. Yet she still showed a lot of her personality as well. It was a mixed thing with her, when she was happy and when she had a lot of energy she was her normal self but when there was things going on she often would become very defensive. She didnt know how to cover her emotions well yet she was very stubborn to the fact. But right now there was no lies, no defense when she was meeting Camden. The only thing you could tell was that she was nervous because her voice was a bit higher then normal and she was talking fast, even for her. Which was something you didnt see often.
Kat figured it was because he was like her. Well once you got to know him, Kat didnt meet people like that often. So he was special in her books and she knew she would have more fun with him today then she had in a while, other then with Kuu of course. Kat liked meeting people that were like her, because then she could relax and be herself without really worrying about anything. It was like a weight was lifted from her when she was comfortable, like she didnt have to hold back like she did with so many others just so they didnt back off from her or anything.
Kat was crazy, in her own mysterious way. And she often scared people because of this. The one memory of this she had was when she was about twelve, and had tried to make a new friend. It was a bad memory for her, one of the few times she had cried. Because kat had just been trying to make friends, not get hurt in the process. There were actually many times it was repeated like this, her brother the only one standing up for her. But he was just as weird.
”Your a freak, nobody wants you around here. You will scare the others off. Go play with your imaginary friends and skip along like your the cats meow. Just remember that by everyone except for yourself. You still stand to be a freak. Just GO”
Kat hated reliving those moments. Where she was treated like she was some freak of nature who was meant to be alone. Kat didnt want to be alone, she wanted anything but that but Kat was a very determined girl. She wasn’t one that would just change her personality for the people around her, there was no point to it. Why would she go and try and be like everyone else when she was just being who she was. But she couldn’t live with not having any friends either. She just had not wanted today to be a repeat of days where she had met people and been told harsh things. It getting worse as she got older. Kat just liked to have fun. She didnt want to live a boring life. She had too much to live for to just not be herself. She just had really wanted Camden to like her. So she was glad it was running smoothly. And her being nervous and even recapping her past a bit with meeting people, had sort of disappeared and she just wanted him to become less shy. And just warm up to her. Because she couldn’t stand awkward moments, because they were normally her fault.
Kat loved shopping. It was always so energy filled, bouncy and she could do whatever she wanted and though she got weird looks for running through the mall, spending the afternoon in toy stores she found it thrilling and even more when people played along with her it was better. And Kat tended to be easily generous to people when shopping. So of course Camden would be forcing her not to buy anything for him or she would, yet then again she would end up buying things for him whether he noticed it or not. She was very good at being all ninja like and hiding things from other people. She ran around like she was crazy and she always found a way around people and there refusal on taking her money, which was actually her parents and she was able to spend it freely. Damn them and having all the money they wanted. Kat just didnt like spending that money on herself.
Coffee was kats next best friend to well her actual friends, hence why kat was always out early with plenty of time to get to where she needed so she could get coffee. Kat had for some reason felt that Camden was one of those people who either was just on time or late so she felt that grabbing him a coffee would be smart plus this way he might warm up a bit since somehow she knew him well enough and he seemed to be as real as when he talked about himself online. So it was incredibly good that she had thought the right thing. Her coffee had almost been gone by the time that Camden had got there but she really had almost completely forgotten her coffee once he had come. First just his looks made her flustered and really his shy ways were adorable which was why she had tried so hard to break him out of his shell and just get him to feel comfortable. Which she noticed seemed to be quite the bit easier, yet she was still curious as to why he was so shy at first. She didnt really understand. Especially since they had talked before and all.
Trust. Best Friends. Truth.
All things that kat had trouble with. As much as she called people her best friends it was very rare for that to be actually true, her only best friend was actually kuu who had been there for her quite loyaly and she could talk to him seriously as well as not. The rest there was always some sort of guarded look on her. Because she wasn’t sure just how much they could take of her before they left. Kat always had people leaving her. She hated it, but it was just the facts of life. She couldn’t do anything about it. She just didnt become too attached so she didnt get hurt. She was always trying so hard to make sure nothing happened to herself, because she had dealt with a lot over the years of deception and being used because she was a push over. She trusts people, yet she doesn’t. She does but once you break that theres no getting her trust back. Just like she never believed what people said till she saw it with her own eyes. Yet when just seeing Camden she forgot everything that she normally did and just went with what she felt like doing.
Kat lived basically for one thing. To make people smile. Kat had always liked seeing other people happy and she did as much as she could to see that other people were smiling. It was the only way that kat could remain smiling with everyone and not have to worry about anything else. They were the way she remained optimistic about everything. That she didnt have to worry about anything else other then other people. Because she didnt like thinking about herself. She always put herself at the bottom of the list. So hearing Camden laugh made her smile even more, like things were going to work out quite smoothly just because of that one laugh she heard while they acted like complete freaks while everyone else seemed relatively normal.
Waiting for him to catch up she brought he hat slightly over her eyes so he couldn’t see the fact that she was blushing. She didnt even know why but she was, maybe because she could be like this, and feel like it was right to be like this with him over knowing him so quickly, and he was here for her. Not for his own benefit only. So that they could actually be friends. People like him amazed her. Grabbing his hand gently she held it a bit tightly swinging it back and forth as she skipped to the hat shop entering it backwards dragging him in ‘i bet you look better in hats then i doo’ she said to him, grabbing a hat off one of the shelves, much like the one she had taken from him and sticking it on his head ‘there, random pick of a hat, perfect look’ she said to him with a wink twirling around.
Two freaks from a zoo, with people staring in at them. Thats what it was like right at the moment but she was with him so she didnt give two shits about what other people thought. ‘thanks for coming, and not calling me some sort of freak’ she whispered to him having moved slightly closer to him acting like she was just fixing his hat. You could tell from that just how much it meant to her, but she didnt want anyone but him to know. Backing off with a smile she twirled ‘perfect’ she exclaimed bounding back like she said nothing. Yet in a way she wouldn’t mind him saying something to what she had told him, because she never really talked to anyone like that.
She had someone. Who was there to be with her, and nobody else.
camden was feeling some excitement welling up inside of him. he loved the fact that he was hanging out with someone so cool as kat. considering that cam was so shy it was probably not a big surprise to know that he had some confidence issues. not too major, or so he liked to think. just your normal questioning of what people thought about him. and so it just really excited him that kat wanted to hang out with him. she seemed so much more interesting and original than he was. deep down, he had to question why someone like her would want to hang out with some awkward shy kid like him. of course they had a lot of things in common. and that was probably what made them get along but they also had some big glaring differences as well. kat was so laid back about who she was and was not afraid to show it. she also seemed to never have a problem with being awkward because all she had to do was be herself and there were no problems. camden really liked that about her and to be totally honest, cam would definitly not mind being more like kat. now cam usually did not walk around and see people and think oh i want to be like them. he was usually okay with the fact that he was quieter and definitly not the type of person to be really outgoing or anything. but then he met kat. and he saw that she was very comfortable with who she was and was not afraid to show it to anyone. camden really admired that sort of attitude she had. so much he almost envied it.
when camden first met people he had a tendency to seem a little frigid and definitly awkward. but thanks to his short walk to the mall, camden was a little less frigid and awkward than usual. he had really wanted to be as normal and not awkward as possible and so camden had given himself a pep talk about how he needed to mirror who he had been on the internet with kat. still he could not be totally who he would be with an old friend. but as the time went on that he was around kat, he was quickly melting off his nervous, awkward outer shell and warming up to this new and crazy girl. he was impatiently waiting for the moment when everything would just be normal and they would be like old best friends. they would have a truly epic relationship. and camden was excited that he got to be part of it. he knew they would have so much fun doing the dumbest things. he had to smile at that fact. camden could feel something truly special slowly happening here. it would be special because camden was not one to usually get very close to people. maybe it had to do with the fact that he just had witnessed too muc heartbreak and back stabbing in his life. most of it had personally happened to him but some had happened to people around him. and you better bet he had learned from it. but with kat it was a lot different. he just had this intuitive feeling that kat was not out to become his friend and then try and hurt him in the end. she was a little too innocent for that. and cam just could not seem to resist the temptation to become her friend right away. he just wanted to stick her in his pocket and permanently keep her around. she was just too much damn fun.
when kat grabbed camden's boney hand, he was very happy. not because there was some electric love touch to it or something but because he saw it as a sign of their friendship becoming better. of course he still felt that little knot in his stomach and hoped he could get a quick moment to sanitize his hands without her noticing. no, actually she should know. they were going to be best friends, hopefully and she should know some things about him. and cam felt confident that she would not judge him because of it. kat was moving quickly; into the store, over to the hats, and hat was on his head all in a flash. but the whole time, camden was right there with her watching intently. he was interested in what she was doing. her comment about him looking good in any hat naturally made him blush. camden was not very good about taking comments because he was not very used to getting them. he smiled and blushed and mumbled an almost inaudible "thank-you."
and as though he was not caught off guard enough with her compliment, he was even more when she thought he would call her a freak. "w-why would i want to do that?" the thought had never crossed his mind. why would he think that anyway? kat was just crazy and lots of fun. in his eyes, camden did not see her as weird. and while he wanted to tell his new friend all that, he just would not know how to say that in a proper sentence without all his stuttering. he wanted her to know that he had not come out of pity or anything of the likes. camden really enjoyed her company. "your not a f-freak. your fu-fun. i mean, i-i think you are way cooler th-than me." while a seemingly simple sentence, it was the truth and really the only way that camden could think to tell her. he hoped kat would get what he was trying to say. and that he wasn't being too akward. but he still had that lovely intuitive feeling that they were both having a great time.
